So this past weekend I went to M.A.I.con out here in Mississippi.... and I laugh at the poor fools that payed $40 for an Artist Alley table. There looked to be around 150~200 guest in attendance which, in my book is PUNY. Most of the guests were also from out of state.... I met TWO people from Mississippi at this con. So instead of staying around the convention, I ditched it for the Local LARPing group every afternoon.
Tho local Amtguard group is called Rebels Hold, and they are wonderful. It was lots of fun just going at it with sword in hand!!.... although I did sustain many injuries, the most frustrating is what appears to be a broken finger (Right Hand Ring Finger). This is the second finger injury i have sustained but it is worth it considering the fun, I just have to learn to be more careful..... Even though I am pretty new to LARPing, I can still gain ground with my background in fencing and the fact that I'm left handed.
Going back to the convention.... the worst thing was probably the dealers room.... WHO DECIDED TO MAKE MERCH MORE EXPENSIVE THAN AT A REGULAR CON?!?! seriously, prices were inflated everywhere!! RAMUNE WAS $3!!! $3!!! I can get it at the store for $1.60 and at every other con for $2! Posters were $6 a piece (versus the $2~$3 normally) and all plushies had a $3~$5 inflation to the usual prices I expect at con....seriously messed up.
The Best thing was that I got Chris Sabbat's signature..... so many wonderful voices from this guy, but Kuwabara is my favorite!!

So All in all, not a great con to go to, but I found fun things to do anyways.
